Woolworths, South Melbourne

Located in the heart of South Melbourne, directly opposite the iconic South Melbourne Market, the store experiences high foot traffic daily.

We worked with Woolworths to stage the project to ensure the store remained open and trading throughout the refurbishment, maintaining customer access at all times.

This refurbishment included several unique features. Highlights included the addition of a new Sushi Bar, Cheese Corner, Direct-to-Boot preparation area, and bamboo-finished cosmetic units with halo lighting. The team also incorporated a dedicated prayer room, enhancing the store’s inclusivity.

Another standout was the innovative epoxy system used for the floors, ensuring a seamless colour and texture match when relocating the refrigeration, preparation areas, and displays. Additionally, the store trialled a new post-and-panel timber cladding system for the front end, offering a fresh and contemporary look.

Operating in a live environment brought challenges, including working within a confined space and under a tight program. Despite these constraints, our team delivered the project safely, and on time.
